Meet the Teacher

Music has always been a part of Charlotte’s life. She grew up in a musical family and began taking piano lessons at age 7, studying with five different teachers over the years.

Charlotte attained a Primary Elementary Piano Pedagogy Diploma (2010) as well as Associate Diplomas in both Piano Pedagogy (2012) and Piano Performance (2012) from the Canadian National Conservatory of Music. She is also a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Charlotte has accompanied for community events and plays an active role as a church pianist. In addition to her teaching career, Charlotte enjoys puzzles, canning, baking, reading, organizing, tackling advanced popular music scores, and spending time with her husband who pastors the West Lorne Baptist Church.

Charlotte attends teacher workshops with a commitment to increase her knowledge and experience in order to deliver quality music instruction. She attended the annual Summer Sizzle pedagogy symposium for piano teachers (Mount Forest, Ontario) from 2005-2012 and 2015 where she had the opportunity to meet and interact with countless Canadian composers, connect with teachers from across Canada, premier compositions by Canadian composers, and take part in numerous workshops on many different teaching topics.

She seeks to make lessons fun and enjoyable while training students to learn skills to play the piano well. Charlotte enjoys getting to know each student’s unique personality, as well as learning about their family and interests. She looks forward to seeing their faces every week. It is her goal and desire to build a relationship with each student to help them grow to love and appreciate music, discover their natural talents and individual gifts, and learn something that will always be remembered.

Charlotte looks forward to sharing the gift of music and being a part of your musical journey!
